Bless and do not Curse
At the heart of this message lies a powerful invitation to return to what matters most: the presence of Jesus. Drawing from the story of Mary and Martha in Luke's Gospel, we're reminded that amid all our busyness and legitimate concerns, only one thing is truly needful—sitting at the feet of Jesus. Mary chose the better portion by fixing her eyes on Christ, and Martha's distraction, though well-intentioned, pulled her away from this sacred moment. This isn't about dismissing our responsibilities, but about recognizing that our spiritual vitality begins and ends with His presence. The call to 'be filled with the Spirit' in Ephesians 5:18 uses a Greek construction that means to keep on being filled continuously—never stopping, never running dry. Like a dry wick needing to soak in water, we're invited to immerse ourselves in the stream of God's presence, allowing it to saturate every part of our being. When we ask our Heavenly Father for the Holy Spirit, He gives without measure, pouring out His goodness over us. The challenge before us is simple yet profound: to lay aside the distractions, turn our eyes back to Jesus, and rediscover the joy that comes from walking and talking with Him as our own.
